What is "Bring Your Own Key" (aka BYOK)

What truly separates us from the rest of the AI writing tools out there is we offer the majority of our tools for free.

How do we do this? By allowing you to use your own OpenAI API key (support for more APIs coming soon).

A dirty little secret that most AI writing tools don't want you to know is that the cost to use ChatGPT's API is cheap, and we mean CHEAP.

If you use GPT-3.5 Turbo, which is our favorite AI model, you pay $.002 per 1000 tokens!

On average, 1000 tokens equals about 750 words.

Here is a great tool you can try by OpenAI that will tell you exactly how many tokens your text is. Just copy and paste.

So let's say you wanted to write 100,000 words:

Divide 100,000 by 750 = 133
Multiply 133 by 1000 = 133,000
So it will take 133,000 tokens to do this.
Let's add an additional 20,000 tokens for prompts as well (tokens are counted in both input and output)
That's a grand total of 153,000 tokens used to produce 100,000 words.
Current pricing is $.002 per 1000 tokens.
Divide 153,000 by 1000 = 153
Multiply 153 by $.002 = $.30
So that's a grand total cost of = 30 cents for 100,000 words! 💥 😮 💥
